Continued From Previous Post – The Astonishing K7 Suzuki GSXR

Just to get a grasp where I left off in the previous post I was talking about the revolutionary Suzuki Drive Mode Selector which is going to be the best friend of beginners on the GSXR K7.  So it is absolutely possible to change between the modes during riding and like a surprise you will really feel the difference. At last the leading motorcycle company gave us a built in Power Commander with pre-configured settings to make those beginners life really easy. But don’t you think for a moment that this is it because a few more improvements are still waiting to be discovered.  Suzuki were not tempted again to use underseat exhaust so instead they mounted two cans, one on each side just to be able to cope with the latest noise and emission regulations. Probably what could have happened that Suzuki recruited some engineers with musical talent in their vein because these exhausts now sound very impressive. The six speed gearbox with slippery clutch remained the same but now it sends more torque and power to the back wheel than it did last year like it wasn’t enough though. Just in case that one innovation wasn’t enough Suzuki throw in an electronic steering damper which is very similar what Honda used on their Fireblade but Suzuki’s one is not that much an attention grabber. It works almost unnoticeable but it does a great job to correct any road or rider fault. Also the engineers revised the chassis for more cornering stability especially on rough road surfaces. Brakes have changed a little bit in detail because they can transfer more heat away from the discs so the stopping power improved as well. In the cosmetic section the bike received some minor changes and mostly the front of it. The back of the bike is totally dominated by the twin exhausts but you can easily recognize the signs of the Suzuki lineage. As soon as you stopped staring at your bike – if you could afford one – and closed your mouth and sit on it you will smile because you will discover how the parts of the bike breathe together. Every piece of it is an engineering masterpiece and none of them is out of the picture and this picture can be quite familiar as you take a glance on the elegant tachometer with the digital gear position indicator and drive mode selector. Start the engine and it will definitely steal your heart with its responsiveness and quietness. To change the drive mode selector from the standard B you have to keep it pushed in approximately five seconds. After you managed to find the clutch and the gear change lever and kicked it into first gear you will be amazed how easy to ride such a wild horse between your legs.  You are going to see that this bike does not belong to the city partially because of the huge amount of heat it generates and because of your eager desire to pull the throttle more and more. However just take it to the open road in order to discover how comfortable, quick and perfectly manufactured animal it is. I have some good news for people who like to go touring because this new K7 Suzuki is not going to hurt your wrists or make you uncomfortable by any means so you can head towards the horizon with peace in your heart that you are in good hands.
