The K4 GSXR 600 – Evolution Makes You Smile Like Crazy
Imagine yourself smiling like an idiot while other people look at you with curiosity in their eyes because they can’t guess why you are doing that face expression. The reason is simple because you have something between your legs even if you are a woman and this something called the K4 GSXR 600. I would like to tell for those who are not that familiar with bikes that this 600cc little rocket is a big step forward from Suzuki compared to the earlier models. Its fairing has been redesigned and now it is not the “black ship” anymore to differ from the other members of the family. As you may know the old model was a bit weak on power and a bit big on weight so no wonder it wasn’t a very popular model among riders but this new 2004 GSXR 600 has made up for the name. One of the first and very impressive improvements is the mind calming fact that it has radial brakes which can stop you within a blink of an eye without too much effort from your fingers and this new braking system attached to upside-down forks. One of the most lovable things in this bike is that despite its wild sportiness it didn’t lose its everyday usability. You still have room under the seat to put your waterproof staff and a mid-sized disc lock thanks to Suzuki’s engineers for not building the exhaust under the seat. However the exhaust looks a bit way too big and there is nothing inspiring in the sound of it because literally it is silent. There are no more buzzing pictures in the new mirrors which make life a bit easier for everyday riders and also the lights got a new shape and the high beam sits on top of the dipped one and gives you increased confidence on dark roads. I guarantee you that you will never forget to turn on the light at night in the city because actually you can’t turn it off and you have a hazard warning light switch instead. The building quality is what you can expect from a Suzuki because all the paintings and connection points are finished in a very high standard and they simply a teaser for the eyes. Regarding the riding experience from the moment you start the engine you are going to feel that it is running smoothly and it pulls incredibly hard from low revs through all the way till the timing retarder cuts off the ignition at approximately 14500 rpm. The throttle response is lightning quick therefore you have so much control over the bike in any riding condition you may encounter. Believe or not it is quite comfortable during longer travel and the seat distributes your weight very good that you won’t feel any pain in your bum and your wrists are also going to stay in good condition. The only thing that can be a problem is the very hot exhaust because it comes out from under the fairing really close to your right leg and if you are not careful enough then you can melt your boot really good or in worse case you can burn your leg when you stop at traffic lights. Otherwise I am sure you are going to love this bike even if you are a complete beginner because it will forgive your mistakes all the time. In one sentence the 600 GSXR K4 is an extremely capable bike again from Suzuki which rides like a dream on the road and hits hard on the track so there is really a reason to smile like an idiot.
