The GSXR Suzuki 750 is Truly a Legendary Racing Machine Designed for Road Use!
Suzuki fans who are deeply interested in the history and evolution of their favourite motorcycle brand surely will remember the year of 1985 and the month was March. This was the time when the first true race replica hit the road but even experienced riders didn’t even suspect what a beast got unleashed. It was the 750 GSXR Suzuki which was one of the first road legal race bikes equipped with technology from race experiences in order to successfully compete and possibly win in every championship around the world. At that time there were a nice number of sport machines on the roads but nothing similar like this. This bike gave a new meaning of the word “sportbike” and opened a whole new dimension in a fight to achieve even more speed and cornering agility. To achieve the very low mass weight the engineers designed an all new light alloy chassis plus a streamlined fairing kit based on their racing machine. The wheels were 18 inch big and also lighter than on previous models or what the competition used on their machines. The engine was air and oil cooled equipped with flat side carburettors for better throttle response and lightweight materials were also used to build it such as magnesium. It was also narrower and a tuning kit was available to pump up the bhp close to 130 if someone needed a really aggressive racing horse. It was a serious weapon in the hands of a skilled rider but it required gentle handling because it seemed that engineers put more working hours to develop the engine than the chassis for example. If you are planning to buy one for the sake of history then just make sure the bearings, the tyres and the suspension are all in acceptable condition otherwise this bike will scare you to death at higher speeds. The heart of this motorcycle is very reliable just as most Suzuki’s engine but because of the age and the capabilities of the GSXR 750 motorcycle it is hard to find one which wasn’t ridden harshly. Anyway don’t let this fact put you off because if you do manage to locate one in nice condition I am sure you are going to enjoy the 750 Suzuki for many years to come provided you are ready to throw some money on it.
