The GSR Suzuki 600 – The Commuter That Gives Pleasure

July 15, 2009 · Filed Under GSXR Suzuki 600, Suzuki Bike

Featuring the famous GSXR 600 engine but of course served in a solid and detuned way to suit even the novice people’s needs. The GSR 600 was designed to be an exceptionally well behaving everyday “helping hand” but at the same time it can give you more than enough power (98bhp exactly) to make your face unwillingly smile on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Don’t be surprised of its handling because the engine has been equipped with the faultless injection system commonly known in GSXR bikes to give you an incredibly controlled power delivery and therefore there are no big punches throughout the revolution range just sweet and smooth ever-growing performance. The only thing you need to pay attention is to keep the engine around 10.000 rpm because the torque and power peaks within 1000 rpm and this is where this bike likes to be in order to give you the most pleasure out of corners. The GSR 600 is highly recommended for beginners because there are no unexpected behaviour problems so it allows the inexperienced riders to safely discover their own limit ceiling. The suspension is a bit on the soft side but the chassis is remarkably well designed and the bike carries its weight-central quite low which means it likes to be trashed around tight and twisty corners. If you are a bit older rider then the GSR600 surely will remind you to those wicked, revolution-hungry and light sportbikes from the mid ‘70s. To say something about the design, well this bike is in the naked category without a question and its exhausts come up on both sides next to the fairing and they end equally high just under the bottom of the passenger. The bike actually looks really pretty in life because all the details are in place from the cooling radiator to the indicators. What comes out of as a disadvantage from its naked style is that there are clearly visible places where you can expect some rust after a couple of years riding but dirty and wet roads during the winter season damages every vehicle anyway. To say the truth I wouldn’t recommend the GSR600 for long journeys because of its lack of fairings so continuously riding on a motorway with no protection from the elements will make you tired sooner than later. Not to mention the vibrations which makes your mirrors dizzy and you would see that every car behind you has blue flashing lights. That would be the only major shortcomings of this great bike so if you are thinking about to buy an excellent all-rounder without going bankrupt then Suzuki has the solution to your biking needs as always.
